Information on NPP Temelín March 7, 2007
Unit 2 is in operation at planned power level. At Unit 1, a planned outage is under way, that is connected with the annual refueling of Âź of the reactor fuel. A pressure test, which checks up the leak tightness of the technological system, took place yesterday afternoon. During it there was a leakage of about 1m3 cooling water with boric acid on the upper block of the reactor in the containment. The water was in a standard way drained off into a tank which is assigned for that purpose. The cause of it is now under investigation, which should be finished today. At the same time the outage schedule will be specified.
The event happened in the controlled zone of the power plant. Neither the health of the power plant’s employees or the environment were endangered.
The employees of the power plant will now clean and check all parts of the upper block and then the pressure tests will be repeated.
All auxiliary systems are working in accordance with the operation needs of individual units.

- Unit is in Mode 1 - power operation
- Reactor power is 99 %
- Turbine generator output - 1010 MW
- Electricity production since the beginning of the year: 1 546 942 MWh
