Upon Consob's request, pursuant to art. 114, par. 5, Legislative Decree. n.58/1998, with reference to recent news in the press concerning the ECB's attention to the high levels of Non Performing Loans held by European banks, UniCredit announces that in the framework of its 2016 activities, the ECB has launched an assessment of NPLs involving, according to our information, a number of other banks.

As per the third quarter financial results (as of 30 September 2015), there are no news to report, at Group level:

- Gross non-performing loans (NPLs) amount to €50.6 billion, a reduction of approximately 3% compared to December 2014

- The coverage ratio of NPLs amounted to 61.4%, among the highest in Italy

As a result, UniCredit's net NPLs amount to € 19.5 billion, a decrease compared to December 2014.
